Through this blog, I would like to give you another glimpse behind the scenes of my work during the summer period. Typically, the art market settles down after Art Basel, only to start again in early September.
However, this year was very different because developments and questions surrounding digital art are increasing all the time. And that’s good news for me and the artists ;).
I can’t go into detail about everything, but I am very happy that, over the past two months, I have been involved in placing a number of artworks in A+ museums. I have also developed a plan for a fund aimed at supporting the development of digital artists. This is different from the investment funds that already exist, as it will support artists’ development. I hope to be able to tell you more about this by the end of the year.
My work as an art broker has certainly not stood still either. I have purchased several interesting works of art at auctions and galleries to add to the collection of private collectors.
Another project I have been working on is the interior design of a collector’s house. I submitted a proposal this summer and was informed last week that I could begin work on this project. I am very happy about that.
Another exciting development this summer was that I found some of a digital artist’s earliest works through my network. After a number of good conversations with the owner, I was able to purchase them. Furthermore, the travelling season has resumed. Last week, I was in London for the opening of Rafael Roozendaal’s short exhibition. It was wonderful to speak with him in person again and to reconnect with several new and old contacts.
I have saved the biggest news for last. One of the early digital artists I admire most is Vera Molnar. Following years of successful collaboration within her network and team, I will be presenting the largest exhibition of Vera’s work in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg this autumn.
This is a dream come true for me.
I will be showcasing her artworks through a combination of an exposition, effective alternative advertising and personally reaching out to enthusiasts, in order to give the artworks a good home.
